Clock Cases
I have made several clock cases but, so far they are not my biggest seller! It's very time consuming (therefore expensive) to make these. Plus, I have to include the cost of the clock I need to hack to get the works. On the other hand, I have not seen any other chess clocks made like this, which makes them very unique companion pieces for the boards and tables. Being a traditionalist, I prefer analog clocks. I am sure that digital clocks are more accurate but I am not the kind of player who is going to be disadvantaged by a few milli-seconds one way or the other. Besides, I really miss the ticking! Analog clocks are also much easier to hack. Some of the digital clocks I have seen would not be suitable for this kind of "retro-fit".
Chess Clock: Figured Walnut, Ebony, Cocobolo. Instead of the usual buttons, I decided to use a Cocobolo rocker. This gives the clock an interesting detail and it is very easy to see which side is down.
